Free app: 3dRudder’s Video control extension for Google Chrome

3dRudder's developer team just launched a new Chrome extension that allows you to control video players with on websites such as YouTube, Daily Motion, Vimeo, Amazon Prime Video with the 3dRudder. Available for free in the Google Chrome Webstore, the extension requires installation of 3dRudder’s WebSocket server. Here are the necessary installation steps to install and enjoy this new feature.

1. Download 3dRudder’s WebSocket server

Since version of the Dashboard, the webServer is automatically launched. You don't need to install it manually.

Once the Server is downloaded:
  • Unzip the file
  • Launch InstallRootCertificat.exe to install the certificate.

2. Add 3dRudder’s Chrome extension

The extension is available for free in the Chrome webstore.

3. Launch server to enable the extension

Since version of the Dashboard (V, the webServer is automatically launched.

Using the Chrome extension requires 3dRudder’s server to be running. Launch the server manually by clicking ‘3dRWSServerStandAlone.exe’ as shown below.

The following window will open showing that the server is running:

4. Ready to start?

The screenshot below shows the home page of 3dRudder’s Chrome extension where you can customize settings:
  • choose your preferred axis for each action: play/pause, fast forward/rewind, volume
  • adjust sensitivity for each axishow much you need to tilt the 3dRudder to trigger action
  • maximum speed for fast forward/rewind
  • return to default values
  • temporarily deactivate the extension
