The 3dRudder for PlayStationVR works on a Plug & Play basis in compatible games. All you have to do is make sure your 3dRudder is fully calibrated before you play.
Here are the 4 easy steps to follow to make sure you fully enjoy your 3dRudder for PSVR.
Step 1: unbox your 3dRudder for PSVR and install the foot bars
Remove the 2 foot bars from the product holder and clip them on the 3dRudder as shown below.
There's a left foot bar and a right foot bar. Make sure to position them properly. Clipping the foot bars on requires no force. If it does, make sure you have positioned them the right way.
Here's a short video showing how to clip the foot bars on your 3dRudder for PSVR.
Step 2: connect the USB plug of your 3dRudder to your PS4
You can plug your 3dRudder in any of the USB ports of your PlayStation.
Should you not have any free USB ports on your PS4, you can use a USB hub—if you want to connect an external hard-drive + the 3dRudder, make sure to choose a 3.0 USB hub.
Step 3: initialization of your 3dRudder
Once your 3dRudder is connected to your PS4, place it on the floor. Your 3dRudder for PSVR will emit a series of beeps—that's the initialization phase.
You will hear 3 consecutive beeps, followed by a single beep.
Please note that the beeps are not very loud.
This initialization phase must be completed each time you plug your 3dRudder to your PlayStation 4.
Step 4: calibration phase
You may now sit down on the seat of your choice: chair, couch, or bar stool.
All seats can be a good fit as long as:
- your seat has no wheels and no pivoting axis: you don't want to roll away or pivot away from the 3dRudder
- your feet rest flat on the 3dRudder so that you can operate it comfortably
Put your feet on the 3dRudder and stay still for 1 second until you hear a short beep. This is the calibration phase: the 3dRudder detects your feet, and registers your initial position.
